How It All Started
In 2023 a Denver hail storm did a number on founder Gabe’s roof — and every “waterproof miracle” product he tried to patch it failed within months. The reviews had all said otherwise.
So he started Roof Care Scout: buy the repair, cleaning, and inspection products himself, test each one through a full Colorado season — hail, snow, sun, and all — and publish the score that holds up.
Today we’re a small team in Denver testing across repair, waterproofing, cleaning, and inspection — more than 30 products and counting.
What We Stand For

Bought, Not Borrowed
Every product is purchased at retail price with our own money. Review units from brands are declined or clearly marked.
Tested in Real Homes
Installed, used, leaked on, and climbed over. If it can’t survive a real fix, it doesn’t score well.
One Honest Verdict
Each product gets one score out of 10 with the trade-offs stated plainly. We never take payment for a good score. Read our Disclosure.
Re-Tested Yearly
Home products change fast. We re-review every product every year and update scores when better options appear.
