🧾 The Short Version
Roof Care Scout may earn a commission when you buy products through links on our site — at zero extra cost to you. Affiliate links never change what we recommend, and we never accept payment for a good score. We are not a contractor and do not perform repair work.
1. Affiliate & Advertising Disclosure
In accordance with FTC 16 CFR Part 255 and the FTC’s Endorsement Guides, we disclose all material connections with product sellers. Revenue sources include affiliate programs (e.g., Amazon Associates, ShareASale, CJ), display advertising, and occasionally sponsored content — which is always clearly labeled as sponsored and never included in our scoring.
2. Editorial Independence
✅ Every product is bought at retail price
✅ Brands see nothing before publication
✅ Every product gets one clear verdict
✅ Products are re-tested yearly
3. How We Test
We buy products at retail price → install and use them in real homes → leak-test, wear-test, and stress-test → publish one score with the trade-offs stated. Recommendations can earn us a commission, but never a better score. When we review a product we haven’t tested ourselves, we say so clearly.
4. Not a Contractor & No Performance Guarantees
Nothing on this site is a repair estimate, a quote, or an offer to perform work, and we are not licensed contractors. DIY guides are educational only — always follow product instructions, local codes, and safety precautions, and hire licensed professionals for structural, electrical, plumbing, gas, or other high-risk work. We never guarantee results, durability, or savings.
5. Questions?
🙏 Trust is a gift. Every verdict we publish is earned with real testing — because once trust is gone, nothing else matters.
